| Description |
| "Structured Packing" refers to packing where the distribution and size of surface area and voids is uniform and regular. We searched the world to find the one producer who could meet our specification for exactly how to make a knitted copper mesh with just the right balance of voids and surface area.
The mesh is rolled into cylinders which are inserted into the distillation column. This structured mesh packing is several times more efficient than the closest standard packing material.
One pound of mesh is sufficient to pack 3 feet (1 meter) of 2" (50mm) diameter column. 2 pounds will pack 3 feet of 3" (75mm) diameter column. |

After trying so-called copper pan scourers which turned into something disgusting after very little use, about 3 yrs ago I bought some of this structured copper mesh from Amphora. It continues to work a treat even after all this time allowing me to enjoy 95%abv sweet'n'clean spirit from my reflux column still at 0.5 litres per hour. Highly recommended. |
